Cerec 3D

Cerec 3D uses state of the art CAD-CAM technology to construct beautiful ceramic veneers, crowns, bridges and inlays in a single appointment without the need for impressions or temporary restorations. It is comprised of a digital infrared camera, a medical grade computer and a milling machine all located onsite. This system allows a tooth/tooth to be treated in about 1 hour using bespoke tooth-coloured all ceramic restorations.

After the tooth has been prepared in the mouth, the camera takes a 3D scan of your teeth, eliminating the need for cumbersome intra-oral impressions. This detailed image is uploaded to the computer, and using bio-engineering software and computer aided design, the restoration is designed. This information is sent to the onsite milling machine to accurately produce the final restoration whilst the patient waits. The dentist will then stain the ceramic tooth to match the individual characteristics of your own teeth. Finally, this custom crafted restoration can be bonded to the tooth.

Some of the benefits of constructing these highly cosmetic bespoke restorations are:

  • Restore/improve natural tooth appearance
  • Increase strength and improve function of your teeth
  • Be completed in a single visit – no 2 week wait!
  • No need for impressions – ideal for patients who suffer with gagging during treatment
  • No need for temporary restorations
